They then used my Gmail to receive my Chase bank verification code and apply for credit and debit cards. Interestingly, when checking Gmail logging history, I noticed several anomalies: 1. The hacker used a VPN to change their IP address to one very close to mine. Additionally, they used a different version of Google Chrome than me, yet I did not receive any verification code requests. This leads me to believe that a combination of a replicated machine, similar IP, and different browser version triggered the lack of verification code. I also observed that when contacting Chase bank, the hacker was identified as a new device, triggering a verification code request. They managed to retrieve the code by using information from my Gmail.
